In an appalling incident, a three-year-old toddler was allegedly kidnapped by mother’s lover and was found two days later. The boy was rescued from APMC market in Vashi on Saturday as per the reports.

As soon as the incident that took place at Rabale was reported to the police, a search operation was launched and the 32-year-old accused was nabbed and arrested by the police.

The accused identified as Hemant More used to work in the same market. Following it, he was produced before the court and has been remanded in police custody.

The police investigation has revealed that the child’s mother and the accused had an extra-marital affair for the past 6 months. As per a national daily report, Sachin Pawar, sub-inspector from Rabale police station said that a few months ago, the accused asked the toddler’s mother to elope with him, but the woman was not ready to leave her son and husband.

The investigation also revealed that after the woman refused to elope with him, More planned to kidnap her son.

The sub-inspector added that the accused tried to convince the woman for three months but to his dismay. After which he thought that if he would take away his son, she would come and stay with him. Earlier also the accused was arrested after he got into a fight with some locals of the area.

As per police, when the woman and her son went to the nearby market on Thursday, the accused met them. After some time, he took the boy in an autorickshaw and fled. Following the incident, the woman and her husband reached the police station to file a complaint. The police went to the accused resident but couldn’t find him there.

The reports further state that the accused had switched off his phone after the incident due to which police couldn’t trace his location. Later, several men at APMC Market informed that the accused was at the APMC market with the child. one of the police team then rushed to the spot and rescued the boy.
