Mumbai: Two wheeler vehicles to not get petrol in Mira-Bhayandar from mid night amidst COVID-19 lockdown

The Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) has issued a notice directing petrol pumps in the area to stop giving petrol to two-wheeler vehicles till the nationwide lockdown period gets over on April 14.

The notification issued on Monday, states that the MBMC commissioner Chandrakant Dange has said that the order will come into effect from midnight on Monday and continue till April 14.

“During this period, no petrol will be given to two-wheelers by any petrol pump in the jurisdiction of the municipality,” Dange told media

The exceptions however include, “Two wheelers belonging medic, paramedic staff, sanitation workers, press, personnel, corporation staff, sanitation workers, vegetable vendors, pharmacy staff and grocery store et all who are engaged in essential services can avail petrol at the pumps on production of identity proof/police permit/s,” he said.

He said action will be initiated against the violators (pumps) as per the provisions under the Disaster Management Act, 2005 for non-compliance of the order.
