In 2018, the Tract Team Ministry established National Christian T-Shirt Day. The holiday is celebrated 49 days after Easter and prior to Pentecost Sunday. 50 days after Easter Sunday, the Christian festivity of Pentecost occurs. During their stay in Jerusalem for the Feast of Weeks, the Apostles and adherents of Jesus Christ commemorate the descent of the Holy Spirit upon them.
The day is celebratory, and it is observed by donning a Christian symbol on a T-shirt. These messages are not necessarily intended to be solemn. In fact, it is encouraged to wear blouses with humorous designs and messages, which better promotes the day’s purpose. To further commemorate and take pride in Christianity, a number of events are hosted in neighbourhoods and community centres; there is free food, music, discussions on faith and spirituality, competitions for the best T-shirt designs, and even free clothing giveaways. You can then share pictures of your day on social media and promote awareness of Jesus’ teachings.
