HISTORY OF NATIONAL MILITARY BRATS DAY
Military Brats, Inc. established National Military Brats Day. It was established as an unofficial holiday in 2016. However, members of the founding committee are attempting to persuade the U.S. Congress to make this day an official holiday to recognise the value of the children of the military. It also seeks to express gratitude to the children of military personnel for their own sacrifices and indirect service to the nation.
April is recognised as Military Child Month. The 30th of April is appropriately designated as National Military Brats Day. It is a day to reflect on the sacrifices made by the millions of military children, both present and past, for the country. Depending on where their parents are stationed, not only are these children’s mothers or fathers sent abroad to serve the country, but they also frequently relocate.
Military Brats are without a doubt a distinct group of people. Their lives may be more difficult than average, but the incessant disruptions in their childhood frequently bring them closer to their families for the rest of their lives.
