Navratri 2020 Day 4: Navratri Day 4 will be observed today on October 20. It is a festival that pays ode to the feminine power, and Goddess Durga. During these nine days, devotees keep a fast and worship each of her nine forms.

Navratri 2020 Day 4: Navratri Day 4 will be observed today on October 20. It is a festival that pays ode to the feminine power, and Goddess Durga. During these nine days, devotees keep a fast and worship each of her nine forms. On the fourth day (Chaturthi Tithi), the Kushmanda avatar of the Mother Goddess is worshipped. Read on to know more:

Day 4 colour: This year, the Navratri 2020 Day 4 colour is red.

Chaturthi Tithi timings: Chaturthi begins at 2:07 PM on October 19 and ends at 11:18 AM on October 20.

Maa Kushmanda Puja: This avatar of the Mother Goddess is believed to have eliminated darkness by giving birth to light. It is also said that she created the Brahmanda (Universe) with her divine smile that radiated incredible energy. And since she resides in the centre of the Sun, she symbolises light and energy.g)

Maa Kushmanda Puja Vidhi: Begin the puja by invoking Lord Ganesha (Vighnaharta) and seek his blessings for a hurdle-free Navratri vrat. Invoke Maa Kushmanda by chanting the following Mantras.

Maa Kushmanda Mantras
ॐ देवी कूष्माण्डायै नमः॥

Om Devi Kushmandayai Namah॥

सुरासम्पूर्ण कलशं रुधिराप्लुतमेव च।

दधाना हस्तपद्माभ्यां कूष्माण्डा शुभदास्तु मे॥

Surasampurna Kalasham Rudhiraplutameva Cha।

Dadhana Hastapadmabhyam Kushmanda Shubhadastu Me॥

या देवी सर्वभू‍तेषु माँ कूष्माण्डा रूपेण संस्थिता। नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः॥

Ya Devi Sarvabhuteshu Maa Kushmanda Rupena Samsthita।

Namastasyai Namastasyai Namastasyai Namo Namah॥

Perform the puja by offering Gandham, Pushpam, Deepam, Sugandham and Naivedyam (blog). Offer shringar items (sindoor, mehendi, kajal, bindi, bangles, toe ring, comb, aalta, mirror, anklets, perfume, earrings, nosepin, necklace, red chunri, mahavar, hairpins etc)

Worship Maa Kushmanda and offer Halwa, Malpua or curd as bhog. Conclude the puja by singing the Aarti and offer your salutations to her by lighting the camphor. After the puja, distribute prasad.
