New Delhi, Dec 15 (IANS) New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) on Saturday launched a Public Bicycle Share (PBS) service in order to bridge the gap of the last-mile-connectivity and reduce pollution.

NDMC Chairman Naresh Kumar said as many as 300 smart bikes would be available for public use on 50 stations across the New Delhi area, and 200 additional bicycles would be added to the existing fleet by end of December, as per an official release.

The PBS service can be availed by using an NDMC mobile App — NDMC-311 — between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m.

The service will be available at free of cost for members for first 30 minutes and later Rs 10 will be charged for every subsequent 30 minutes. For non-members, the charges would be Rs 10 for every 30 minutes.

There would be season passes on weekly, monthly, and yearly basis.
