NEET 2019: Dress Code, Guidelines – important instructions issued by NTA

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued guidelines mentioning the dress code for the students appearing for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) scheduled to be held on Sunday, May 5 from 2 pm to 5 pm.

Below we list all the necessary information you must know regarding the prestigious medical entrance.

Change in exam centre

Citing the Lok Sabha general elections and ‘unavoidable circumstances’ the National Testing Agency (NTA) earlier changed the examination centres of several candidates. The affected candidates have been informed through SMS voice call, email on their registered numbers.

Reporting time

Candidates are required to reach the test venue by the reporting time – 12 noon, as mentioned in their NEET 2019 admit cards. The gates will close at 1:30 pm, beyond which candidates will not be allowed to enter.

Documents required to carry

Candidate must carry a copy of admit card – colour printed on an A4 sized sheet, along with a valid photo ID proof in original, such as (PAN card/ Driving License/ Voter ID/ Passport/ Aadhaar Card (With photograph)/E-Aadhaar/Ration Card).

According to the NTA notification, ID Cards issued by Schools/ Colleges/ Universities/ Coaching Centres, AADHAR enrollment receipt without AADHAR NUMBER and PHOTOCOPIES OR Images Stored in mobile phones etc will NOT be accepted

The candidates must also take along at least two passport-sized photographs as uploaded on the application form.

List of items candidates must NOT carry

Candidates are not allowed to carry instrument/ geometry/ pencil box, handbag, purse, any kind of paper/ stationery/ textual material (printed or written material), eatables and water (loose or packed), mobile phone/ earphone/ microphone/ pager, calculator, DocuPen, slide rules, log tables, camera, tape recorder, to wear/carry any type of watch including electronic watches with facilities of calculator, any metallic item or electronic gadgets/ devices in the examination hall/room.

Can Diabetic students carry eatables?

Diabetic students will be allowed to carry eatables like sugar tablets/fruits (like banana/apple/ orange) and transparent water bottle to the Examination Hall/Room. However, they will not be allowed to carry packed foods like chocolates/candy/sandwich etc.

NEET 2019 Dress Code

Candidates are advised to avoid ornaments like Ring, Earrings, Nose-pin, Chain/Necklace, Pendants, Badge, and Brooch etc.

“In order that the candidates feel comfortable during the Examination, it will be in the interest of candidates that, unless the weather demands so, they are dressed in light clothes (preferably half sleeves) and slippers, sandals with low heel and not shoes,” the advisory read.

For the candidates who come in cultural/customary dress at the test Centre, should report before 12.00 noon to give enough time for proper frisking and avoiding any “inconvenience to the candidate while maintaining the sanctity of the examination.”

Marking attendance

Candidates must enter the required details in the Test Booklet, Attendance Sheet and OMR Answer Sheet. They should place their signature (in legible running hand) and Left-Hand Thumb Impression twice and paste the Photograph at the appropriate place in the Attendance Sheet. They also need to place their signature (in legible running hand) and Left-Hand Thumb Impression Side-2 of the OMR Answer Sheet. They should ensure that their Left-Hand Thumb Impression is clear and not smudged.

Syllabus

The Question Papers for the test shall be based on a Common Syllabus notified by the Medical Council of India and implemented in the year 2013. It is also available at www.mciindia.org.
