A Hyderabad based ‘Family Institute’ is offering several ‘Pre-marriage’, ‘Post marriage’ and a ‘Best Mother’ course under a home management programme in a bid to help people ‘live a successfully happy married life’.
Situated in Balreddy Nagar in Hyderabad, ‘Family Institute’ offers a ‘Dulhan Course’ under which the institute trains a bride on various niches such as cooking, sewing lessons along with beauty tips and financial management, which they promise will help their students ‘re-discover the value and impact of family home’.
Even though the course has been running for past two years, the institute decided to re advertise it recently. However, the course promoted as ‘Dulhan course’ did not go well with the netizens who came out lashing at the institute terming it as ‘misogynist’.
Here’s how people reacted on social media –
No, really, what the actual fuck is this? Hyderabad, you are far more fucked up than I thought! Are they any classes for men or the entire onus of making a marriage work is on the woman alone? When is our society going to change & stop putting the entire burden on the woman! pic.twitter.com/tnaea7HgtF

Sad to see this in todays world. If such courses are for women similar should be given to men as well.

This isn’t the first course in our country, which aims to ‘train’ women to be better wives. Last year, the Barkatullah University in Bhopal had launched a short term course to train women to become a ‘sanskari bahu’ (perfect bride). The university was of the belief that this course will being women a step closer to “empowerment”. Read complete story here.
