Newborn baby girl abandoned in Noida amid coronavirus lockdown

In a shocking incident, a newborn baby was abandoned in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. According to a report, the infant was found near Parthala roundabout in Sector 122 of the city at around 6 pm on Tuesday.

A passerby found the baby girl near the roundabout and handed her over to the local police. The infant has been sent to a shelter home in Noida and the city police is trying to find her biological parents. According to police, they received a call from a woman regarding the newborn lying on the roadside.

The girl is healthy and perfectly fine

A police team immediately reached the spot and the girl was taken to a local hospital for medical examination. The girl is healthy and perfectly fine, the medical examination report said.

Following this, the Child Welfare Committee was informed about the child that has initiated the process to take the girl to an adoption centre in Agra.

The officials said that in such cases, the infant is taken to the Child PGI Hospital and is kept under medical supervision. However, the hospital was closed because of the coronavirus-induced nationwide lockdown and therefore the baby was taken to a private hospital in Sector 20.

Satya Prakash, FXB India Suraksha, NGO, said the baby was fine and has been sent to a shelter home.

“Doctors say it looks like the child was delivered in an institution, which makes it easier for them to track down her family,” Prakash was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

Later, an order was released stating that the girl will be shifted to Mathura adoption centre.
