NIOS 12th Result 2020: The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) announced the results of the NIOS class 12 exam on Wednesday, August 5, 2020, on its official website.

NIOS Class 12th students, who have taken the NIOS Class 12 exams can check their results by visiting the official website at nios.ac.in.

NIOS cancelled the class 10th and 12th exams in light of the ongoing situation due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Originally, NIOS scheduled to hold the 10th, 12th exams from March 24 to April 24 which was then delayed due to the coronavirus related lockdown.

Thereafter, NIOS released a revised schedule to conduct class 10th, 12th examinations from July 17 to August 13.

On July 10, NIOS finally decided to cancel the theory exam that was slated to be held from July 17 and practical exams, scheduled to start from July 2 for both class 10th and 12th due to the pandemic.

How to check NIOS Class 12th Results 2020:

  • Open the official website at nios.ac.in
  • Go the result tab or directly visit – results.nios.ac.in
  • Under the senior secondary (March- April) Result click on the link that reads ‘Check Result’
  • Key in your enrolment number and date of birth, and submit
  • The NIOS 12th Result 2020 will be displayed on the screen
  • Download and take its print out for further use

Marking Scheme:

This year, the class 10 and 12 exams could not be held due to the pandemic. NIOS published the marking criteria which will be used to compute the results.

For subjects for which no exams were held, students will be awarded marks on the basis of the average of the best three marks secured in the subjects for which exams have been held.

On the other hand, those students who have performed only in three subjects the last time will be provided marks on the basis of the best two subjects.

Those who have appeared for only 1 or 2 subjects will be awarded marks based on the average performance in the past three public examination results.

Students who have appeared the exams for the first time, the assignments or practical marks will be considered as per the performance of the past three public exam subjects.

The Supreme Court had on July 16 said that NIOS must ensure that results of the current academic year are declared by August 7.
