NIRF India Rankings 2020 postponed amid COVID-19 outbreak

NIRF India Rankings 2020: The Ministry of Human Resource Development has postponed the declaration of India Rankings 2020 by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) amid coronavirus disease outbreak across the nation. A notification regarding this has also been uploaded on the NIRF official website.

“The announcement of India Rankings 2020 is postponed until further notice due to COVID 19,” reads the notice.

The previous year, NIRF had released the India Rankings in the first week of April in which Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras had topped the list of higher education institutes. IISc Bengaluru had gained second and IIT-Delhi had come third in this list.

Among management institutes across the county, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM-B) topped, IIM Ahmedabad came second in the list and IIM Calcutta stood in the third place.

MHRD approved the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) and launched the same on September 29, 2015. The framework outlines the method of ranking Indian institutions.
