Noida: Cops allegedly thrash vendor for demanding payment of Rs 50 after buying ice-cream

Two policemen allegedly thrashed an ice-cream vendor in Noida after he asked them to pay Rs 50 for the ice cream.

There have been many incident in the past where the powerful people or the persons in authority, on being asked to pay the dues, have tried to humiliate and abuse people such as fruit sellers, vendors on roads, toll booth officials. The recent in the line of incidents is reportedly from Noida where an two policemen allegedly thrashed an ice-cream vendor after he asked them to pay Rs 50 for the dessert they had bought from him.

Going by the reports, the incident took place on July 13 in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida. The two officials attached to the Barola police post under Sector 49 police station had bought ice creams worth Rs 50 and when the vendor, Amit Kumar aka Tinku, asked them to pay, they beat him black and blue.

As quoted in many reports, an official stated that “They took the vendor to the police chowki and again beat him. Locals had meanwhile called up the emergency ‘100’ number after which another police team reached the spot and the matter was brought to a closure.”

“However, Tinku then approached the senior superintendent of police with a complaint against the policeman, prompting him to order an investigation in the case,” the official said.

An investigation has been ordered and further action would depend on the findings of the probe. Meanwhile, a video of the incident with police officials thrashing the vendor is going viral on the social media.”
