Muzaffarnagar (UP), April 28 (IANS) Muzaffarnagar police will now get freshly laundered uniforms in a jiffy.
SSP Muzaffarnagar Abhishek has installed five automatic washing machines in the police lines where the cops can get their uniforms washed.
Talking to IANS, the SSP said, “We have got these machines so that the police constables living in barracks can get their uniforms washed when they return from duty. It is essential for them to maintain high standards of hygiene in the prevailing times. We have stationed persons who will operate the machines and if the constables want, they can do it on their own too.”
The laundry became functional of Tuesday.
The SSP said that constables who lived in barracks and did not have families found it difficult to wash their uniforms after putting in long duty hours.
