With the rising air pollution in the national capital, Delhi government has relaunched the Odd-Even scheme from November 4 to 15 under which, vehicles will ply alternately on odd and even dates as per their registration numbers.
In order to avoid traffic congestion and to keep up the motive of curbing pollution, CM Arvind Kejriwal decided to stagger working hours of its offices during the implementation of the 12-day odd-even scheme.

As per the official order, as many as 21 government departments will operate between 9.30 am to 6 pm while the working hours of another 21 offices have been changed from 10.30 am to 7 pm.
The offices which will operate from 9.30 am to 6 pm are Administrative Reforms, Environment, Power, Planning, Audit, Finance Department, Food Supplies and Consumer Affairs (General Branch).
The offices which will function from 10.30 am onwards include Home, Services, Urban Development, Principal Accounts Office, Prosecution, Transport, Higher Education, Information and Publicity.

The air pollution level has increased so much that the Environment Pollution (Prevention & Control) Authority (EPCA) had to declare a public health emergency and the Delhi government announced that all schools in the Capital will remain closed till November 5.
The Delhi government and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have blamed the stubble burning in neighbouring states like Punjab and Haryana for the bad air in the capital.
