Police today, November 29, detained two staff of an OYO hotel in Odisha’s Bhubaneswar on charges of recording intimate moments of a young couple. The two allegedly also blackmailed the woman for ransom.

The matter came to light after the woman lodged a complaint in this connection.

According to the complaint lodged by the woman at Nayapalli police station, she was staying in Sai Arya Residency for a couple of days. After she returned home, she started receiving phone calls from a person on different numbers.

Going by a Sambad English report, the caller threatened her that he has captured pictures of her private moments and would make it viral if she fails to give Rs 50,000 in cash.

The woman agreed to give him Rs 20,000 and informed her friends about the case. After a hotel staff came to collect the money, the woman and her friends caught hold of him and handed him over to Nayapalli police.

The police detained another staff of the hotel and began an investigation.
