Odisha, NE highly satisfied with Centre; TN, Punjab in negative

New Delhi, Jan 16 (IANS) In the backdrop of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, nearly 41.66 per cent of people are very much satisfied with the overall performance of the central government across all the states, as per the IANS C-Voter State of the Nation 2021 survey.

According to the survey, in Odisha, 75.02 per cent of people are very much satisfied with the performance of the Central government, while 16.4 per cent are satisfied to some extent and only 8.3 per cent are not satisfied at all, taking the net satisfaction level to 83.12 per cent.

In Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, more than 60 per cent of people are very much satisfied with the performance of the Centre.

Interestingly, in the northeastern states, 45.16 per cent of people are very much satisfied with the Central government, while 38.93 per cent are satisfied to some extent, taking the overall nett satisfaction level to 68.93 per cent.

The level of satisfaction with the Centre’s performance is in the negative in Tamil Nadu and Punjab. In fact, at -30.9 per cent, Punjab is the only state which is extremely unsatisfied with the Central government.

The perception of the Central government has also dipped in Uttar Pradesh, where 40.23 per cent of people seem to be satisfied with it, while 42.15 per cent are not satisfied at all. Even in Kerala, 41.08 per cent of people are not at all satisfied with the performance of the Central government.

In Haryana, 39.55 per cent of people are not at all satisfied with the performance of the Centre, while 32.1 per cent are very much satisfied and 25.44 per cent are satisfied to some extent.

In Jammu and Kashmir, 43.64 per cent of people are satisfied with the Central government’s performance, while 22.79 per cent are satisfied to some extent and 30.88 per cent are not satisfied at all.

In the all-India context, 41.66 per cent of people are very much satisfied with the Centre, while 24.67 per cent are satisfied to some extent and 29.83 per cent are not satisfied at all.

The survey was carried out among over 30,000 respondents across the country, covering all the 543 Lok Sabha constituencies.
