New Delhi, Feb 26 (IANS) A day after an Uttarakhand-based government official lodged a police complaint against suspended AAP MLA Kapil Mishra for sending an allegedly provocative post on social media, he was suspended on Tuesday.

The Communication Ministry in an order said, “Disciplinary proceeding against Ashish Joshi, an SAG officer of Post and Telegraph Department and presently posted as Controller of Communication Accounts, Uttarakhand, Dehradun is contemplated.”

The competent authority in exercise of powers conferred by Sub-rule (1) of Rule 10 of the Central Civil Services Rules 1965, hereby places him under suspension with immediate effect, it added.

Mishra also took to Twitter to share the news of Joshi’s suspension. “This man Ashish Joshi has been suspended from his job,” he tweeted.

The controversy erupted on Monday after Mishra posted a video on Twitter reciting a poem in which he attacked the “so-called enemies of the nation within the country”.

“It’s now or never. Pull them out on streets, as the traitors are hiding inside our house. Kapil Mishra exposing terrorism supporters in India,” Mishra said in his video.

Joshi lodged an official complaint with Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik accusing Mishra of “circulating a highly incendiary video and provoking people to attack some citizens”.
