Online application forms for pilgrims in India going on Hajj 2020 pilgrimage will start from October 10 and will continue till 10th of November, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi announced on Friday in New Delhi.
Addressing the media in a review meeting in Delhi on Friday, Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi spoke about the preparation for Haj and said Haj 2020 will be 100 per cent digital.
He further said that a system has been developed to provide E-visa to all pligrims and application can also be submitted through mobile application.
Naqvi announced that this year, new Haj embarkation point will be opened at Vijayawada in addition to earlier 21 such points in the country. He said this early announcement of Haj process will ensure better management regarding Haj in India and Saudi Arabia.

Coinciding with Eid al Adha, Haj is the annual ritual performed in the month of Dhul Hijjah to commemorate the sacrifices made by Prophet Ibrahim, his wife Hager and their son Prophet Ismael. The likely date of Hajj 2020 is either on July 27 or 28, 2020, corresponding to 10th of Dhul Hijjah 1441 AH.
As the Islamic calendar is based on sighting of moon, the final date will be decided once the new moon of the month of Dhul Hijjah is sighted.
