On Valentine’s Day, Opera GF users will be prompted to activate a Valentine’s Day-themed Mod and will be greeted by GX Aura, Opera’s digital mascot and ‘date’ for the day. The Mod is filled with thoughtful, humorous Valentine’s Day-themed touches that are intended to divert attention away from the possibility that some users may be single or lonely on Valentine’s Day.

The Mod will feature a unique background image, unique user interface and keyboard sound effects, background music, and a custom shader that spreads hearts across the screen. While you’re indoors browsing the Internet, GX Aura combines all of these elements to simulate a perfect day outdoors.
The Valentine’s Day Mod also demonstrates the depth and customizability of GX Mods, a new feature that also launches in Beta on February 14, heralding the beginning of a new era of customization for Opera GX. With GX Mods, users will be able to modify their browser in an infinite number of ways, with dozens of pre-made Mods available at launch. This will be followed by the imminent launch of a Mod store where users can upload their own Mods. How these components interact is entirely up to you, and the browsing experience you create will be entirely unique.
