A shocking incident had surfaced where a person allegedly beat up his only son brutally, undressed him and drove him out of home by inscribing an abusive word on his back to teach a lesson for one of his trivial mistakes.

The incident got reported from Telkoi area in Keonjhar district on Tuesday triggered discontent among locals.

The police acted swiftly regarding the matter and arrested the father of the minor son on charges of child abuse and domestic assault.

The victim is the only child of Ashwini Patra, who is a banker and veterinarian Dr Diptimayee Badhei. He is the Class-I student of a private English medium school.

Sources also state that the father had been assaulting him physically since Monday for making some mistakes during the study. On Tuesday, he allegedly abused him and drove him out of the home. The torture did not end there.

Taking the abuse to extremes the father then stripped off his son’s clothes and wrote ‘Gadha’ (ass) on his back as part of extreme humiliation for neglecting studies.

Being tortured by father, the scared son started running towards a local market to save himself. The locals caught the child and found wound marks on his bodies. They later informed the police about the incident.

After being informed, the police reached the site and rescued the minor boy.

The police registered a suo-moto case under sections 341, 294, 506, 323 and 325 of IPC and section 75 of Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2015 and arrested the father.
