Parliament Session LIVE UPDATES: India to implement National Register of Citizens on a priority basis: President Kovind

The first session of the new Lok Sabha commenced on June 17 with first two days witnessing oath-taking ceremonies of the newly-elected MPs.

A day after the Lok Sabha unanimously elected Om Birla as the Speaker, President Ram Nath Kovind addresses a joint session of the Parliament on June 20, 2019. The customary address by the President will be followed by proceedings in both Houses.

Both, the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha, will start proceedings half an hour after the conclusion of the president’s address. Thursday will also be the first day of Rajya Sabha since the election of a new government.

The first session of the new Lok Sabha commenced on June 17 (Monday) with the first two days witnessing oath-taking ceremonies of the newly-elected Members of Parliament.

542 Members were sworn in in the presence of pro-tem Speaker Virendra Kumar on Monday and Tuesday. The Prime Minister introduced his Council of Ministers to the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.
