Patna: 18-year-old youth found dead 10 days after he went missing during CAA protest

RJD had announced the Bihar bandh on December 21 to condemn the recently amended Citizenship Act.

PatnaThe body of Amir Hanzla, an 18-year-old youth of Harun Nagar, who went missing in a ruckus that took place on December 21 against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) during the Bihar bandh, has been recovered 10 days later.

The body of Amir Hanzla has been found in the Phulwari Sharif area of Patna.

Rashtriya Janata Dal had announced the Bihar bandh on December 21 to condemn the recently amended Citizenship Act. Hundreds of people took out a rally from Shaheed Chowk in Phulwari Sharif. But in the middle, a lot of people attacked the protesters. By the time police arrived, the crowd had dispersed. Meanwhile, Amir Hanjala went missing in this dispersed crowd.

Speaking to the Newsd, Amir’s family told that once the ruckus came to a standstill, the family members were waiting for him to return but to their disappointment, Aamir did not return home till late night.

They searched him everywhere including hospital but Amir could not be found. Following this, Amir’s family filed a missing complaint at Phulwari Sharif police station. 10 days later, Amir’s body was found at 6 am on December 31. His body was sent for post-mortem at Patna Medical College Hospital was later cremated.
