Phase 4 of Lok Sabha Polls: In recent months, India has been eagerly anticipating one of its most important political events, the Lok Sabha Elections.

Lok Sabha Elections 2024 are being held in seven phases over a two-month period. Citizens exercise their right to vote and elect the central government for the next five years.

School holidays and traffic restrictions have been announced ahead of Phase 4 of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

Here is a list of states where a Dry Day may be observed on May 13 in states holding elections.

In preparation for the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, authorities have imposed several restrictions.

An example of one of these restrictions is the implementation of a Dry Day, in which alcohol sales are prohibited.

Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Jammu and Kashmir will be among the nine states and one union territory where voting will take place during the fourth phase.

The official announcements of Dry Days ahead of the Lok Sabha elections are below

  • In Andhra Pradesh, government liquor outlets, bars, distilleries, depots, breweries, and toddy shops have been closed from 7:00 PM on May 11 until the end of voting on May 13.
  • A ‘Dry Day’ has been declared in Srinagar from 6:00 PM on May 11 to 6:00 PM on May 13. No liquor will be served in hotels, clubs, or other establishments during this period.
  • A Dry Day has been declared in Cyberabad ahead of polling during the fourth phase of the General Elections, and Section 144 has been imposed to maintain law and order.

Liquor sales are prohibited from 6:00 PM on May 11 until 6:00 PM on May 13, which is polling day in Pune.

At present, three phases of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 have been completed: the first on April 19, the second on April 26, and the third on May 7.

In phase 4, 96 constituencies across ten states will be voted on May 13, while in phase 5, 49 constituencies across eight states will be voted on May 20.

There will be six phases of voting on May 25, covering 57 constituencies in seven states, followed by the final phase on June 1, covering 57 constituencies in eight states.

The counting of votes and result declaration are scheduled for June 4, 2024.
