PIL filed in Karnataka High Court seeking conversion of empty apartments as COVID-19 bunkers

Amidst coronavirus scare that has gripped all of us, the cases in India have risen at an unprecedented pace. With cases cloaking to an unbelievable toll. More than 1000 have been gripped with the virus pandemic and 25 people have lost their lives.

Even the life loss and infections are just one part of the story, the other thing the virus has caused is unprecedented moves of the govt that no one can predict.

The govt has initiated a 21-day lockdown from 24th March to 14 April and the Migrant workers fear that they might die of hunger. Many of these migrant workers were seen on Saturday flocking to bus depots waiting to go back home.

The total number of positive cases in Karnataka as of now stands at 83.

The development has come around from Karnataka where an appeal has been made in High Court to turn empty apartments to covid-19 bunkers so that people could be facilitated, migrants can live and further the govt can assist the poor in meeting their daily needs.
