Please don’t be misled: Riteish Deshmukh quashes claim of “availing loan waivers meant for farmers”

Bollywood superstar Ritiesh Deshmukh on Tuesday, December 3, responded to allegations that he and his brother Amit Deshmukh – a Maharashtra MLA availed “loan waivers meant for farmers”.

In a reply to Madhu Purnima Kishwar – who alleged that the two Deshmukhs availed amounts worth Rs 4 Crore 70 lakhs, the Indian film actor, wrote “Dear @madhukishwar Ji, The said paper in circulation is with malafide motive. Neither me nor my brother @AmitV_Deshmukh have availed any loan as mentioned in the paper posted by you. Hence, there is no question of any loan waiver whatsoever. Please don’t be misled. Thank you.”

Ms Kishwar has responded to Mr Deshmukh’s reply with an apology, she wrote, “Riteishd ji, an otherwise reliable Mumbai friend sent me that info. Knowingly,I never publish misleading info even against someone I may hate.Sorry,in this case I was misled. From now on, won’t trust even good friends on SM matters. Sincere apologies.BTW I admire your acting”

Amit Deshmukh represents the Latur City Constituency in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. In 2019 state polls, Mr Deshmukh received 52.48% of the total votes and defeated the BJP candidate Shailesh Govindkumar Lahoti by over 40 thousand votes.

Meanwhile, his another brother,Dhiraj Deshmukh, who cut his political teeth as a Zilla Parishad member in Latur, won the Latur Rural assembly seat by a handsome margin of 1.21 lakh votes.
