Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a rally in Kolkata today to give an edge to BJP’s election campaign in the West Bengal Assembly elections 2021. A number of senior leaders of the BJP will be present in the rally at the Brigade parade ground, Kolkata. However, doubts still remain on the question of actor Mithun Chakraborty being present at the rally and joining the party.

2:55 pm: PM Narendra targets Mamta Banerjee & left 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi targets the left and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee as he says Bengal wants peace and progress. He further says, in this assembly elections, TMC, Left, and Congress and their anti-Bengal attitude are on one side. On the other hand, there are people of Bengal. “The dream of ‘ Sonar Bangla’ will be fulfilled,” says Modi.


1: 44 pm: Mithun Chakraborty joins BJP

Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty has joined BJP at Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mega rally.

Mithun Chakraborty was greeted by West Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh at Brigade Parade Ground. BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya and party vice-president Mukul Roy are also present at the iconic ground.


11:18 am: PM Narendra Modi to conclude the ‘Parivartan Yatra’

PM Narendra Modi will address a rally in Kolkata this afternoon. With this rally, the BJP will conclude the ‘Parivartan Yatra’ launched in February this year. A senior party leader said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will hold a rally at the Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata and will heat up the Bengal assembly elections.

11:00 am: BJP’s first event after the election announcement 

West Bengal will have assembly elections in 8 phases. This will be the first major event in Bengal after the announcement of the assembly election schedule by the Central Election Commission. The BJP has planned to mobilise huge crowds to make the rally a success.


10:45 am: Mithun Chakraborty to join the rally?

Besides Prime Minister Narendra Modi, several senior BJP leaders will be present at the rally. According to BJP sources, celebrities including Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty are also expected to be present on stage during the rally. A senior BJP leader said, “He can attend the rally.” However, BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya said that there was no discussion about Mithun Chakraborty joining the party.
