Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have greeted the people of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram on their Statehood Day today.

In a tweet, Mr Naidu said, people from these two beautiful hill states have made an immense contribution to India’s growth and development.

Prime Minister also prayed for the continuous growth and development of both the states in the coming years.

In a tweet, Mr Modi said, Arunachal Pradesh is synonymous with patriotism and unwavering commitment to national progress. He said, people belonging to Mizoram have excelled in many spheres and contributed to India’s growth.

The prime minister said India is proud of the rich culture of Mizoram.

“Those belonging to Mizoram have excelled in many spheres and contributed to India’s growth. Praying for Mizoram’s development in the coming years,” Modi tweeted.

On this day in 1987, Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram became full states from union territory.

On this occasion of statehood day in Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister Amit Shah will also grace this occasion alongside Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju. An AIR tweet confirmed their presence.
