One week. Two tragic incidents. India is mourning as over 70 children died in Gorakhpur’s BRD Hospital and 46 people lost their lives in a massive landslide in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi district in the past week.
The grief of both the incidents seems to be equal for most of us, but not for our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
The PM was quick enough to tweet about the deaths of people in Himachal but chose to remain silent over the deaths of innocent children, who died in Gorakhpur hospital due to oxygen supply shortage. The incident took place in Gorakhpur, the home town of UP chief minister, Yogi Adityanath.
Twitter is slamming PM Modi and calling it a political opportunity, as he took to Twitter to tweet about the Himachal mishap. The guessed reason behind this is that elections are soon due in the state.
He was strongly criticised for not expressing his condolence when the Gorakhpur tragedy took place. Also, he was quick enough to congratulate Bihar CM Nitish Kumar minutes after he resigned from his post and broke free from the mahagathbandhan.
However, the merciless death of children still remains ‘unmentioned’ by our PM.
These tweets are a proof of the great outrage that PM’s move has caused across the country.

The life of Indians is of no value for the PM. He is pained at tragedies across the world but unmoved seeing Indians in pain. #ModiMustSpeak
