Praveen Kumar, a senior police officer in eastern Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur town was recently roasted for sharing his pictures on Social Media where he kneels down, shakes hand and puts tilak to UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Yogi Adityanath, also the head priest of the influential Gorakhnath temple in the town, had visited Gorakhpur on the occasion of Guru Purnima, where he first took blessings from his Guru, and later, blessed his disciples. In the long line of Yogi’s disciples, was Officer Praveen.
A series of photographs on Facebook, shared by Praveen Kumar, shows him kneeling down in front of the Chief Minister with folded hands. In another photograph, the officer can be seen applying a tilak on Adityanath’s forehead. A third photograph shows the police officer garlanding the Chief Minister.
The act by police officer while he was in his uniform, has garlanded piercing reactions from people on social media, with many asking if he should have done this in uniform.
