A Delhi Police officer, Ratan Lal and a civilian, Mohammad Furqan, died in northeast Delhi as violence broke out across multiple neighborhoods for a second time in less than 24 hours.

The clash broke out between pro and anti CAA protests in Gokalpuri when stone-pelting began from both sides. The violence escalated in Jaffrabad areas after protesters torched houses.

Head Constable Ratan Lal was deployed in the Maujpur area where clashes broke out on Monday. He had sustained grave injuries during the stone-pelting in the area during the anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protest.

Ratan Lal was trying to pacify the protesters when he was hit by stones on his head. The head constable was taken to a nearby hospital where he died of his injuries. Catch minute-to-minute live updates of the CAA violence in Maujpur.

It is also reportedly said that there is a number of 37 police men who are injured in the clash in the North East Delhi.
