Pradosh Vrat December 2021:  The auspicious Hindu festival Pradosh Vrat falls on both Shukla Paksha Trayodashi and Krishna Paksha Trayodashi. Also known as Pradosham, the festival will be celebrated on Friday, December 31.

According to Drik Panchang, Pradosh Vrat is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Parvati.

It is believed that on this day, Lord Shiva and his wife Goddess Parvati felt delighted and pleased with each other. Therefore, devotees observe fast and worship the deities to celebrate them. They also seek blessings from them for a similar bond in their lives.

On this Vrat, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati are worshipped.

Pradosh Varat December 2021:  Significance 

Pradosh fast is dedicated to Lord Shiva.

This occasion falls twice a year in the Hindu calendar on the trayodashi tithi of both Krishna Paksha and Shukla Paksha. People worship Lord Shiva wholeheartedly and offer kheer. On Paush Krishna Trayodashi, people will worship in the evening during Pradosh Kaal. One hour before the sunset is called Pradosh kaal. By keeping fast, a person will be blessed with happiness prosperity, and good fortune.

Pradosh Vrat December 2021:  Puja Date

Pradosh Vrat will be observed on the last day of the year 2021 that is December 31. As per Drik Panchang, the shubh muhurat of the Pradosh Kaal Puja is between 6:12 pm to 8:48 pm.

Vrat tithi begins: December 31, 10:39 am

Vrat tithi ends: January 1, 7:17 am

Pradosh Vrat December 2021:  Puja Muhurat

Vrat will take place on Friday, 31st December. Shukra Pradosh fast will start from 10.39 AM and will end on Saturday 1 January 2022 at 07.17 AM. On Friday, 31 December, Pradosh Kaal puja will start at 05.47 pm to 08.28 pm.

Pradosh Vrat December 2021:  Puja Vidhi

– Pradosh vrat puja is done during evening twilight, that is sandhyakaal.

– Some devotees fast for 24 hours without sleeping and abstain from eating anything and break their fast in the evening after taking prasad.

– Some devotees only worship and do not fast, they take an early bath in the morning and in the evening they lit a deepak in front of idols and offer naivedya.

– Devotees visit Shiva temples for Abhishek.

– Abhishek is performed by bathing Shivling with ghee, milk, honey, curd, gangajal, etc. while chanting ‘om namah shivay.’

– Mahamrityunjay mantra, Shiv Chalisa and other mantras are recited on this day.
