Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is having the best time of her career. She just made a splendid debut in Hollywood film, XXX: Return of Xander Cage that released worldwide and got appreciated by almost everyone. The diva is also engaged with a huge project Padmavati. Recently, the actress talks about many things including her alleged rivalry with Priyanka Chopra, working in Hollywood in an interview with Hindustan time.
Talking about the rivalry with Priyanka Chopra, she said, “I like the fact that you use the word ‘friend’ because that’s what she is to me. So, every time I read anything that doesn’t say that [we are friends], it really surprises me. I have always said that she is someone I’ve known for many years. I feel extremely awkward and weird when such comparisons are made because I don’t even believe that we are professional rivals. We never were. So, why should we be now? She is doing amazing work in her own space. And what her work will require from her in terms of time and other commitments are different from what I am working towards or what I am doing.”
When being asked, whether working in Hollywood been an important career move, the diva said, “Was it significant or necessary? No. But yes, at a personal level, it was. It was important to challenge and push myself to move out of my comfort zone. I want people to know that it’s okay to take risks. It may pay off sometimes or it may not, but the idea is to not be afraid. There are certain notions in society, whether it’s in India or anywhere else, and it was important for me to at least try and break them. That’s why it was a personal challenge on so many levels. It paid off in a much bigger way than I had expected.”
