Probably one of the reasons British colonised the world: Neesham

London, July 16 (IANS) The start to the first day of the second Test between England and the West Indies, as was the case with the first match of the series, was delayed due to rain.

The wait was understandably frustrating for cricket fans and New Zealand all-rounder James Neesham, known for his wit on social media as much as for his cricketing ability, decided to vent in a hilarious tweet.

“Probably one of the reasons the British colonised the world. To find a place where they could play a damn Test match,” Neesham tweeted.

England batted first after West Indies won the toss. They lost two wickets, with opener Rory Burns and Zak Crawley both being dismissed off consecutive balls by Roston Chase either side of Lunch. Dom Sibley and captain Joe Root have since fought it out in the middle.

England are looking to level the series after their defeat at the Ageas Bowl in the first Test. While they have selected Stuart Broad, who was dropped in the first Test, the hosts are without James Anderson and Jofra Archer. While Anderson has been rested, Archer was dropped after he was found to have breached the team’s biosecurity protocols.
