PSTET 2018 postpones due to non-randomisation of roll numbers: Check details

The Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) 2018 has been postponed by the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB). The PSTET 2018 exam has been now scheduled to be conducted on January 19, 2020. Earlier, the exam was slated to be held on January 5, 2020.

Due to non-randomisation of roll numbers of the candidates, the PSTET examination date has been changed by the PSEB. Moreover, investigation will be held as this can lead to cheating in the exam.

Candidates who will be appearing for the exam will be alloted the fresh roll numbers on January 15, 2020.

Candidates appearing for the Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test 2018 are advised to keep track of the official website, pseb.ac.in  to get updates of the exam.

The PSTET 2018 will consist of two papers-

  • Paper 1 will be conducted for the candidates who wish to teach from class 1 to 5
  • Paper 2 will be conducted for the candidates who wish to teach from classes 6 to 8

The exam will be of 1.5 hours duration.

Each paper will have the following sections-

  • Sections in Paper 1- Child Development and Pedagogy (Compulsory), Language I and Language II (Compulsory), Mathematics, Environmental Studies
  • Sections in Paper 2- Child Development and Pedagogy (Compulsory), Language I and Language II (Compulsory), Mathematics and Science (for Mathematics and Science teacher), Social Studies/Social Science (for Social Studies/Social Science teacher).

Each section in Paper 1 will be for 30 marks. In paper 2, the compulsory sections will be for 30 marks, the mathematics and social science section will be for 60 marks.
