Punjab: 1,204 govt schools get 100% result in Class 12th PSEB exams

There are total 1,903 Government Senior Secondary Schools in the state, of which all students of 1,204 schools have achieved 100% pass percentage in PSEB Class 12th examinations recently.

The Punjab School Education Department has said that under the “Sikhiya Sudhar Muhim (Quality Improvement Drive)”, a total of 1,204 government senior secondary schools (over 63%) have achieved 100% pass percentage in PSEB Class 12th examinations recently.

There are total 1,903 Government Senior Secondary Schools in state, of which all students of 1,204 schools have achieved this feat. As per the official information, of these schools, 111 are in Jalandhar district, 108 in Ludhiana, 92 in Bathinda, 78 in Hoshiarpur, 72 each in Amritsar and Gurdaspur, 70 in Sangrur, and 57 in Muktsar.

Likewise, 8 of the 10 meritorious schools had 100% per cent results. The remaining two schools in Ferozepur and SAS Nagar secured 99.4% and 99.78% pass percentage, respectively.

The PSEB class 12th results were announced by the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) on Tuesday, July 21, 2020.

The Education Department had launched “Smart Schools” campaign couple of years back and in the last year, “Mission Cent Percent” was launched.

The best school award has been given by the school education department to 66 government middle, high, and senior secondary schools in the state. Furthermore, the award was given to three schools in every district and it includes Rs 90,909 to each middle school, Rs 1.36 lakh to high school, and Rs 2.27 lakh to senior secondary school.

Ambassadors of Hope (online competition) winners:

On Thursday, Punjab school education minister Vijay Inder Singla has announced the winners of online competition ‘Ambassadors of Hope’ for Pathankot district.

The winners are- Aarit Kumar is the first winner, of Class 5 at Christ the King Convent School. Yatee, of Class 8 at St Joseph Convent School, stood second; and Bharti, of Class 11 at Government Senior Secondary School Badhani, got the third prize.

He said, “Winners of remaining 21 districts will be declared in a phased manner.”
