Aam Aadmi Party’ Member of Legislative Assembly from Ropar constituency, Amarjit Singh Sandoa, who had joined the Congress ahead of Lok Sabha elections, on Thursday, withdrew his resignation from Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker’s office.

Former AAP MLA from Mansa constituency Nazar Singh Manshahia could also withdraw his resignation, as the Congress government seems in no mood to hold by-elections to Ropar and Mansa Assembly segments.

“Both have realised that they cannot contest on the Congress ticket from their respective constituencies during the leftover term of the Congress government so they have preferred to save their membership,” a senior Congress leader was quoted as saying in The Tribune report.

Sandoa had been looking for Ropar seat, from where Congress leader Barinder Singh Dhillon had unsuccessfully contested, while Manshia had been eying the Mansa seat, from where Raninder Singh, is reportedly keen to contest.
