Do you pride yourself on being a pure vegetarian? Are you among those who check for Red/Green dot while picking up packed food from market to make sure it is vegetarian? Even after so much of your carefulness, are you so sure that you are not taking in any animal?
Well this might look bizarre to you but the makers of the Prestige LifeStraw water filter claim that normal water is non-vegetarian and their filter is so good that it produces “vegetarian water.”
An ad – published in a local newspaper in 2014 – has gone viral on social media in which a model is seen posing beside a water purifier under a bold headline that read ‘Pure vegetarian water?
The idea proffered in the ad is that when you drink regular water, you are ingesting bacteria and viruses, which are “animals.” When you drink chemically purified water, you are ingesting dead-but-formerly-living animals, which is not vegetarian. So you should buy water in which all the dead critters, no matter how small, are filtered out.
“Boiling will kill germs but the killed germs are still in the water, not making it vegetarian water. Prestige LifeStraw uses Ultra filtration with hollow fibre technology that physically REMOVES all virus, bacteria and Cysts, leaving only pure water with NO germs, dead or alive in it.”
As soon as the army of trollers came across the said advertisement, they started reacting to the image hilariously.
