Rahul Gandhi slams PM Modi, says “Wont let PM rest till he waives farm loans”

In a press conference outside Parliament on Tuesday, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi once again hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not waiving off farmers loan. Citing the example of his new Chief Ministers who waived off the farm loans within few hours after their oath taking, Congress’s Rahul Gandhi said he would not let Prime Minister Narendra Modi “sleep or rest” till he gave a reprieve to farmers.

Accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of dividing the country into two halves, Gandhi said “On one side you have farmers, poor, youth, small traders and on the other you have the country’s top 15 industrialists.” He claimed that PM Modi didn’t waive even a single rupee of the poor farmers. But he put Rs. 3,500 crore in his friends’ pockets, the Congress chief alleged.

Mr Gandhi promised that “We won’t let Modi Ji sleep or rest or sit in peace until we make him waive farmers’ loans.”

He added, “Congress manifesto for 2019 would promise farm loan waiver. We will do it guaranteed 100 per cent if the Narendra Modi government doesn’t do it by then.”

On speaking over 2016 note ban, Gandhi described demonetisation as “the biggest scam” in the country. The Congress president said that the PM had a choice between note ban and loan waiver but he chose the former to “give away money to his industrialist friends.”
