Jaipur, Nov 29 (IANS) Chief minister Ashok Gehlot and deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot on Friday led a massive march to protest against the economic policies of the central government which, they said, is leading the nation towards an economic slowdown, bringing in unemployment and soaring inflation.

The march started from the Pradesh Congress Committee office and transformed into a mammoth gathering at Civil Lines.

Speaking on the occasion, Gehlot said that this march reminds me of my younger days when Congress lost the elections. Even a Prime Minister like Indira Gandhi lost in those days and hence the present central government should not feel proud; no one knows when the mood of the people will change.

Those doing Modi-Modi shall soon run away, he said, adding that they are circulating false information about Jawaharlal Nehru on social media.

Deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot also addressed the gathering.

State in-charge Avinash Pandey said the Congress will fight for restoring democracy in the nation. People have given their mandate to the Congress in the civic elections trusting the organisational skills and governance of the party.

On December 14, the Congress will protest in Delhi by taking out a massive rally from Ramlila Maidan.

Another senior leader Vivek Bansal said that the central government is indulging in vendetta politics by removing the SPG security cover of the Gandhi family.

The gathering was addressed by state minister Pratap Singh Khachriyawas and other senior Congress leaders.
