The Ashok Gehlot government on Friday, October 18, announced Diwali bonus for nearly six lakh state employees. The gazetted government officials have been exempted from this benefit.
“The employee with pay-matrix level 12 or below will get the bonus benefit. The gazetted government officials have been exempted. The maximum amount of the bonus will be Rs 6,774. Those who will get the bonus include panchayat samiti and zila parishad employees,” a government press release read.
The move will create an additional financial burden of Rs 406 crore on the state exchequer according to the release.
