In a shocking incident, a farmer distressed over unpaid bank loan, allegedly killed himself by jumping in front of a train in Rajasthan’s Hanumangar on Saturday night .

According to the reports, the deceased identified as Jagdish Nayak, was mentally unstable and committed the act. However, villagers claimed the farmer was troubled by an outstanding loan of nearly Rs 3.85 lakh from a private bank.

Suresh Meel, SHO of Gogameri police station, told a leading daily, “Nayak jumped in front of an oncoming train, close to his farmland. We spoke to his family and they told us that he was mentally unstable and was under treatment. It is quite possible he took his life owing to the ailment.”
