R Sandesh Group, incorporated by two visionary brothers Mr. Ramdeo ‘Rammu’ Agrawal and Mr. Dilip Agrawal, is Nagpur’s leading conglomerate with a legacy spanning 40 years. Their journey began with garment manufacturing comprising a robust trading network across the country, followed by launching of daily vernacular broadsheet newspaper National Sandesh. They further advanced into infrastructure development across the Nagpur metropolitan region. Today, the brother duo have built the leading real estate venture of the city, which carries a legacy of commitment and craftsmanship.
The group’s three pillars of strength comprise trust, innovation and quality that creates lasting goodwill for customers, partners and employees alike. They are focussed on becoming the most renowned and respected national players in all sectors of operation, while also working selflessly on social causes through their philanthropic arm R Sandesh Foundation. Ms. Shraddha Agrawal, daughter of Mr. Ramdeo ‘Rammu’ Agrawal, is a passionate and creative entrepreneur who joined the management team. She has also founded Take 23 Studios that envisages to be the gold-standard of evocative and genre-defining film-making.
The group’s textile business was pioneered in the 1970s by an ambitious businessman, Mr. Prahladrai Agrawal. He procured bulk cloth material from the erstwhile Empress Textile Mills and mass-produced ready-made garments for women. Soon the wholesale outlet Ramdeo Cloth Store at Old Santra Market in Nagpur, became a popular name across Central India. The business became a fashion powerhouse, when his enterprising sons, Mr. Ramdeo ‘Rammu’ Agrawal and Mr. Dilip Agrawal, set up a manufacturing unit in 1998 for women’s ethnic and casual wear. Ready-to-wear brands Amita Garments and Tirumala Garments were launched with an extensive distribution network across the country.
In 2016, the brother duo established another manufacturing unit in Ahmedabad, the textile hub of India. A coveted collection of salwar suits and sets for every occasion was introduced under the brand name of R Creation. Recently, one more unit was built in the Amravati district of Maharashtra state, to manufacture exclusive party wear frocks for girls branded as Barbie Gold. The management is robustly working to become one of the largest textile businesses in the country, especially in the ready-to-wear women and kids segments.
R Sandesh Group entered into the media industry by launching a daily Hindi broadsheet newspaper National Sandesh on 18th September, 2004. With an estimated readership of 1.5 lakhs and a circulation of 35000 copies, it is the most sought after evening newspaper of Nagpur metropolitan area and surrounding districts. Today, under the patronage of Mr. Ramdeo ‘Rammu’ Agrawal and Mr. Dilip Agrawal, the publication covers broad-ranging news from current affairs, politics, religion, entertainment to sports, commerce, local and feature stories. The present editor, Mr. Praveen Turhate, carries a legacy of being a distinguished and dynamic journalist.
