Rashtrapati Nilayam Garden: A beautiful new garden called Nilayam Nikunj has opened up inside the Rashtrapati Nilayam, which is the President of India’s official retreat in Bolarum, located in the Secunderabad Cantonment area. President Droupadi Murmu opened the garden through a virtual event to celebrate the completion of her third year as President.
The garden is part of a green project and aims to connect people with nature while also encouraging wellness and eco-friendly living. K Rajani Priya from the President’s Secretariat said this project is meant to support nature and let more people enjoy greenery and open space.

This garden is spread over six acres and has many beautiful features that make it perfect for all age groups. There is a rose garden that has 800 rose plants, a Topiary area where you can see plants shaped in creative designs, a special Yoga zone, a play area for children, and walking paths where people can take peaceful walks. The whole garden has 404 trees, over 5,200 shrubs, and around 27,300 hedge plants, all adding to the charm and fresh feel of the space.
People can visit Nilayam Nikunj for free but they need to book their entry online before coming. Bookings can be made at visit.rashtrapatibhavan.gov.in. Those who already have tickets to visit the main Rashtrapati Nilayam building can go to the garden as well.

As part of the Kargil Vijay Diwas events, the authorities have removed entry charges for all defence staff, paramilitary forces, and retired servicemen from July 26 to September 14. They just need to bring a valid ID and register at the reception to enjoy the visit for free.
