Anjaan, also known as Lalji Pandey was an Indian lyricist known for his work in Bollywood. Remember the song Khaike Paan Banaraswala, it was penned up him and not only this he has written over 1500 songs for more than 300 films.

He is remembered for tracks from his collaborations with composer Kalyanji-Anandji, R.D Burman and Bappi Lahiri. Lyricist Sameer is his son.

Being a native of varanasi he had great love and attachment to Ganga. There were a lot of songs written by him on Ganga such as “Maano To Main Ganga Maa Hoon Maano To Behta Paani” and “Ganga Mein Dooba”

He died on 13th September 1997 in Mumbai in the state of Maharashtra, India at the age of 66.
