National Youth Day is celebrated every year on the 12th of January to remember the teachings of Swami Ji. The Indian government announced the celebration of National Youth Day on January 12 in 1985. The day is celebrated with great fanfare across the country.

The future of any country depends on the youth of that country. The younger generation contributes immensely to the development of the country.

Swami Vivekananda was the country’s greatest social reformer, thinker, and philosopher. His ideals and ideas can encourage youth across the country.

The main objective of celebrating this day is to tell the younger generation that they should also achieve success by adopting their ideas in the same way that Swami Vivekananda achieved success in his life.

Notably, at the age of 25, Vivekananda became a monk. He was named Vivekananda after his retirement. Vivekananda met Guru Ramakrishna Paramhans in 1881 at Daksheshwar Kali Temple in Kolkata. Paramhans gave him the mantra that the awareness of God contained in all humanity is the service.
