Renault India has launched the new Kiger, its upgraded sub-four metre SUV, with more than 35 enhancements spanning design, performance, technology, and safety. Positioned under Renault’s “rethink performance” philosophy, the new Kiger is priced from ₹6.29 lakh to ₹11.29 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India).
The compact SUV gets a refreshed exterior design with a bold front grille, sculpted hood, redesigned bumpers, new LED headlamps, taillamps, fog lamps, and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. Two new colour options—Oasis Yellow and Shadow Grey—have also been added, alongside existing shades.
Inside, Renault has introduced dual-tone dashboards, ventilated leatherette seats, premium upholstery, and enhanced noise insulation for a quieter cabin. The SUV also features a 20.32 cm floating touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity, a 3D ARKAMYS® surround sound system, and a cooled glove box.
On the performance front, the new Kiger continues with two petrol engine options:
1.0-litre Turbocharged Petrol: 100 PS power, up to 160 Nm torque, and fuel efficiency of 20.38 kmpl.
1.0-litre Naturally Aspirated Petrol: 72 PS power, up to 96 Nm torque, and fuel efficiency of 19.83 kmpl.
Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual, Easy-R AMT, and advanced X-Tronic CVT with D-Step technology, aimed at eliminating the “rubber band” effect common in CVTs.
Safety has been a major upgrade. The new Kiger offers 21 standard safety features across variants, including 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Traction Control, Hill Start Assist, ISOFIX child seat anchorage, and 3-point seatbelts for all seats. Renault has also added a multi-view camera system for easier parking in tight city spaces.
“Kiger has been a unique product in its segment, and with this latest evolution, we are reaffirming our commitment to making expressive design, intelligent engineering, and real-world performance accessible to Indian customers,” said Venkatram Mamillapalle, MD and CEO, Renault India.
The turbocharged variants—Techno and Emotion—are priced at ₹9.99 lakh and ₹11.29 lakh, while the entry-level naturally aspirated variants start at ₹6.29 lakh.
With compact SUVs accounting for 50% of India’s SUV sales, Renault is betting big on the upgraded Kiger to strengthen its position in one of the most competitive segments of the Indian auto market.
