Keeping into consideration the security reasons of the republic day celebration, metro services will be partially curtailed. The parking area of the metro station will be closed from 6 am on January 25 to 2 pm on January 26.
Many metro stations entry and exit will also be shut between 6 am and 12 pm on January 26, said DMRC (Delhi Metro Rail Corporation).
Metro officials said that as per the instruction by the Delhi police the restrictions considering the security reasons have been made. The services will be curtailed only on the Yellow and Violet lines of Delhi Metro, a DMRC spokesperson said.
Entry and exits of the central secretariat and Udyog Bhawan will be shut between 6 am to 12 pm, only interchanging will be allowed on these stations. Also, Patel Chowk and Lok Kalyan marg stations will shut their entries and exit between 6 am to 12pm on Saturday.
Stations on violet line including, ITO, Delhi gate, Lal Qila, Jama Masjid will be open throughout the day only certain entry and exits will be closed and will resume from the afternoon.
According to a spokesperson, At ITO, gates 3, 4 and 6 will remain closed. For Delhi Gate, it will be gate 1, 4 and 5. For Lal Qila, it will be gate 4 while for Jama Masjid, gates 3 and 4 will remain closed during this period.
