After the announcement of Shah Rukh Khan’s film Zero, people were intrigued to see him play the role of a dwarf. So far only Kamal Haasan and Anupam Kher have played dwarfs in films. But now it seems to have kicked off a trend. According to sources, Riteish Deshmukh is also planning to play the role of a dwarf in one of his upcoming films.
It is not yet revealed if it will be a Hindi or a Marathi film, but we hear that the Ek Villain actor is keen to play the part and has already signed on the dotted lines.
He is currently promoting his film Mauli which is gearing up for release in December. Riteish Deshmukh’s tough policeman avatar in the teaser of his new Marathi film “Mauli” is being loved. He says while he would love to show this side of his performance in a Hindi film, there’s something else about doing it in his mother tongue. The action-packed teaser of “Mauli” was unveiled by superstar Shah Rukh Khan on social media earlier this week.
It received a positive response from a majority of the film fraternity.
Produced by Genelia D’Souza Deshmukh and directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Mauli, set to release on December 21, is written by Kshitij Patwardhan. It features Saiyami Kher along with Riteish Deshmukh.
