Seems like troubles make their way out to Salman Khan even if they are invited by Salman himself or by the people around him. An accused wanted in a 29-year-old case of robbery was held on Wednesday from Bollywood actor Salman Khan‘s bungalow in Mumbai. He will be produced before a Mumbai court on Thursday.

The accused, identified as Shakti Siddheshwar Rana, 62, was a caretaker at Salman Khan’s Gorai-based bungalow for the past 15 years. He is accused of a robbery that happened 29-years ago in Mumbai.

Rana had changed his identity and had been in hiding for the past three decades, police said.

The senior police inspector said that Rana and some others were allegedly involved in a theft and were arrested by the crime branch in 1990. He was released on bail and then became untraceable, the police officer said.

A non-bailable warrant was issued by a Mumbai court against Rana and a manhunt was launched to nab him. Recently, the police received a tip-off the man, who was was living in a house in the Gorai Beach area for the past 20 years.

The Gorai area was scanned by officials following the information was received and hundreds of people were questioned, after which officials learnt that Rana had been working at Salman Khan’s bungalow for the past one and half-decade.

Dressed in plain clothes, officials then reached Salman Khan’s bungalow where they spotted Rana. Police started questioning the man after they confirmed that he was the same person who committed the crime.

Rana initially avoided the questions asked by police regarding his past and the crime. However, he confessed to his crime later.

He told police that he had stopped attending court proceedings and shifted several places before starting to work at Salman Khan’s bungalow. After working there for several years without getting caught or identified, Rana had lowered his guard, which in turn helped police to trace him.
