Congress on Tuesday suspended former part spokesperson and All India Professional Congress, Mumbai chief Sanjay Jha from the party with immediate effect for anti party activities and breach of discipline.

Earlier, he was removed from Congress National Spokesperson after he wrote an article critical of the Congress’ current state of inertia.

In his article published a few days ago, he had written that “I would like to call a spade a spade here and a shovel: there has been no serious effort to get the party up and running with any sense of urgency.”

After his removal, Jha had said that he is proud that he stood by the Congress ideology of the Gandhi/Nehru era.” The party is not what it used to be, for sure.”

Home Minister Amit Shah also launched an attack on Congress on the anniversary of the Emergency that was declared by the Indira Gandhi government on June 25, 1975. Referring to the removal of Congress spokesperson Sanjay Jha and other incidents, Amit Shah has asked why Congress still has a mindset similar to the Emergency days.
